January Luncheon- "Labor Market Perspectives in East Texas”
We are pleased to have Dr. Manuel Reyes join us for the ETEPC January 2024 luncheon. He will be discussing Labor Market Perspectives in East Texas.
Dr. Reyes joined the Hibbs Institute for Business and Economic Research at the University of Texas at Tyler in February 2018 as Senior Research Analyst. He is responsible for the regional economic impact modeling projects conducted by the Institute and has led the Institute’s collaborations, presentations, and research activities since January 2019. The Hibbs Institute collaborates with academic, governmental, and non-profit organizations in the development of research studies, policy initiatives, and community development activities. The Hibbs Institute also functions as a consulting firm, which conducts special interest projects in the fields of business, economics, and economic development such as economic impacts analyses, socioeconomic profiles, labor market studies, among others.
Before joining the Hibbs Institute, Dr. Reyes worked for the Mexican Secretary of Economy, as well as several research centers including the Hunt Institute for Global Competitiveness at the University of Texas at El Paso, the Arrowhead Center at New Mexico State University, the Center for Economic Development and Research at the University of North Texas, and the Institute for Policy and Economic Development at the University of Texas at El Paso. He received a B.B.A. in International Business and an M.B.A. from the Tecnológico de Monterrey, Campus Chihuahua. He later earned an M.S. in Economics from the University of Texas at El Paso and a Doctoral degree in Economic Development specializing in public finance from New Mexico State University. Dr. Reyes is currently pursuing his M.S. in Health Sciences at the University of Texas at Tyler.
